Ignoring zero data in charts

Good afternoon

I have a table of data delivering staff performance stats and a bar chart
that charts the data. Oftern, a staff member maybe absent, meaning that
there is zero data for the individual on that day. Short of changing the
chart range everytime this occurs (there are a lot of staff members so daily)
is there anyway of instructing the chart to ignore any zero values, thus
leaving that staff member out of the chart for that day?

Many thanks

You could make a PivotChart. Make Name the row field and StatData both the
data field and page field. Then on the StatData page field hide blanks and
zeros. The resulting chart will not show any bars for names of people that
have 0 or blank StatData. Don't forget to refresht the pivot table.

I'm not sure of any automatic way to exclude people on a normal chart.

JaB,

In math zero does not mean nothing, it means something, so it should be
plotted. I leave the cell empty when no data are reported. like in your case.
This is more accurate than using 0, and fixes your problem.
