I'm looking to make excel automatically do a find-replace.
I could go through one sheet, do a find on each item in column A, and
replace on each number in column A by hand, but I figured there would
be an easier more fail-safe
way to have excel automatically do what I'm doing by hand.

The end result is to find out what numbers are left over after
replacing all duplicate numbers.

Hi lerleroux.charles,

Not quite sure what you are trying to do, but can't you just use

Find > Replace from the menu items?

oldchippy :confused:

Absolutely. That's what I've been doing, but with nearly 1000 numbers
to cross-reference and me doing this by hand, it means that I may end
up mistyping a number. I was looking to see if it was possible to have
excel do the same function that I am doing but automatically.

Very confusing!!! Your question is not clear.

But u can try this ...

You can use Edit->Replace

click ReplaceAll when u finished typing required things in "Find" and
"Replace" textboxes.
