If no PPPoE than Rasppoe the way to go?

I don't have PPPoE on my Windows XP...it's been uninstalled. I need to get
on my Broadband DSL so since nobody knows how to get native Windows XP PPPoE
installed, I am going to install Rasppoe as it has installation instructions
to get the PPPoE protocol up and running.

Anything I should be scared of. I installed an old version and was able to
get out to the DSL service, but there was something it didn't like and blew
my connection off. I have Verizon DSL, which is problematic from what I
understand.

Thanks in advance for your help.

So here's what I did. I installed XP 1 on a second drive on my machine...a
brand new install...and I have PPPoE and LP and all those other things in my
devices. So, needless to say, I can access the Internet through my DSL all
the time. But when I boot from the original drive, the one without the PPPoE
and LP and Wan Miniport devices, I cannot get to the Internet because I keep
getting a "Unavailable - device not found". So it's not my connection, it's
not any software, it's not the PC......PPPoE, WAN Miniport, LP, etc. devices
are missing from the operating system.

So my question still remains.......how do you get those devices back on your
Windows operating system if they are no longer there? Do you have to do what
I did or is there a simple fix, like installing the devices. And if so, what
are the file names and how about some step by step instructions. And,
puhlease, I am not talking about the connection wizard because I don't have
any devices to connect to.

I am also in touch with the MS Support Team as well and they haven't figured
it out either. Scary if they don't know how Windows works, ain't it?
