Hi.
the IEEE1384 connection doesn't work in VistaRC2, it exists and the Device
Manager confirms that it is working, but no external firewire item works.
Any opinion or suggestion ? thank you

Hi,
I have an ASUS P4P800 E Deluxe with VISTA RC2 and the Firewire works fine. I
didn't have to do anything special.

I have a Dell Precision 670 with onboard firewire and a Unibrain fireboard
installed. Both work without a hitch for an external hard drive and a Sony
FX1 video camera. Also have a audio firewire device (mLAN) that kind of
sort of works - but is lacking the drivers from Yamaha to give it full
functionality.

thank you for confirming,
must be due to my texas instruments ohci compliant controller, it is the one
on my motherboard Asrock 939sli32 e-sata.
ciao

My Unibrain Fireboard 800 uses the Texas Instrument chips and Vista install
the correct drivers for it. Try deleting it in Hardware Manager, reboot and
let Vista rediscovery it. Maybe the driver just didn't load correctly the
first time.
