IEEE 1394 Firewire I/O problems for Video Capture and Storage

I finally found the solution. Before I tell you what it is
I had to write to Firewire disk manufacturer whose support
is limited to just asking questions and not giving
answers. Then I called Belkin whose idea of support is as
long as you do not have 2 devices connected to 2 firewire
ports it should be fine. Finally Ulead tech support, which
I am sure are visually impaired since ATI Radeon 8500DV
looks same as ATI Radeon 8500 and asked me to go through
the registry to find something that wasnt supposed to be
there.
The problem is a culmination of 3 problems. Via processor
based motherboards,Belkin IEEE 1394 card and Windows
XP.There is problem with via motherboards not working
properly with many PCI cards known as "PCI latency problem"

My solution was a cocktail of
1)latest VIA drivers from www.viaarena.com
2)ftp://ftp.pinnaclesys.de/driver/pc/extras/PPE111.EXE
Pinnacle PCI performance enhancer.
3)PCI latency patch -

Most other Windows XP IEEE 1394 related problems like one
device kicks out the other still remain so one has to come
up with ways that one is started before startup and
another afterwards.Windows XP cannot handle 2 IEEE 1394
device startup at the sametime.
VideoStudio 7.0.1 didn't crash afterwards.
Hope this helps someone who has similiar problems.
