IE7 Save File option ceases to appear after multiple file download

G

Guest

Running Vista and IE7 with latest updates etc.

Downloading a number of small files from the web, after about 50 downloads
the save file window in IE7 stops appearing. Only way round this seems to be
to close down all instances of IE7 and then reopen and continue saving files.

I've done a quick search of the KB and Google but can find no other users
having such a problem. Is this just my setup or do "we" know about this
problem already?

Its not a big problem for me, just curious.

Hello, beaubrad

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: your IE7 can not save
files after 50 downloads.

If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know.

Based on your situation, I would like give you some suggestions.

Suggestion 1: clean out cookies and temporary files.
========================================================
1.Open IE, click Tools\Internet options.
2.Click "Delete cookies" button and click OK in the pop up dialog box.
3.Click "Delete files" button and click OK in the pop up dialog box.

Suggestion 2: reset your IE 7.
=========================================================
1. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
4. When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click
Close, and then click OK two times.
5. Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that
you open Internet Explorer 7.
