IE7 errors when exited - "Unexpectedly Closed"

I haven't seen any posts on this one - I close IE7 and then get a message
that IE7 "Unexpectedly Closed" and it tries to *restart*. Dang it - when I
close it, it shouldn't be a surprise! Anyone else seeing this? Application
log says:

Event ID 1000
"Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b133, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549bdc9, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00061635, process id
0x4f4, application start time 0x01c7504cc16d0a94."

I am not running any "toolbars", etc. I have checked MSKB, Google and there
is no information on this error. An Event ID website doesn't have an
enlightening info either.

This has appeared several times in the newsgroups

IE7 closes down (when I press the X) and then restarts itself for no reason.
I have an MS fingerprint reader using digital persona 2. software. Just
trying to see what the pattern is and if the fingerprint reader is a common
cause.

Dan,

Thats the cause for me, take out reader problem goes away.

I keep the reader as the restart is not that much of a hassle, would be nice
however if MS fixed the problem (which ever side it is on).
