IE7 Blocker Tool Kit

Hello,
I downloaded IE7 Blocker Tool Kit to C:\My Downloads (folder).
The kit comprises 4 items viz: IE70Blocker.adm (ADM File 4KB),
IE70Blocker.cmd (Windows NT Command Script 2KB), IE70BlockerHelp.htm (HTML
Document 19KB) and IE70BlockerHelp-GPFilteringDialog.jpg (386 x 383 ACDSee
6.0 JPEG Image).

I am unable to install this blocker.

I opened IE70Blocker.cmd, a dos window appears but disappears almost
immediately.

The registry key: \Setup\7.0 in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Setup\7.0
is nowhere to be found in the Registry Editor. I then tried to import this
registry key without success.

I require assistance to install this blocker, please.
System Information:-
Platform: OS Microsoft Win32 XPPro Version 5.12600 SP2 Build 2600

The reason you're having problems is because you need to run
the program, IE70Blocker.cmd, from within a command prompt
window.

The following assumes you extracted those four files to the My
Downloads folder.

Go to Start -> Run and enter cmd.exe in the Open box.
This should open a command prompt window.
Type the following commands and hit the Enter key after each
one:

CD \
CD "My Downloads"
IE70Blocker.cmd /B

Go back and check the registry key.

May I enquire as to why you've downloaded the IE7 Blocker Tool Kit?

will first notify users when Internet Explorer 7 is ready to install and
then show a welcome screen that presents key features and the choices to
"Install, "Don't Install" or "Ask Me Later." In short, you won't be forced
to install it, it won't be a silent install, it won't be a hidden install.

No problems PA Bear.

As far as I know Microsoft will distribute Internet Explorer 7 as a
high-priority update via Automatic
Updates for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 soon after the final version
of the browser is released (planned for fourth quarter 2006). Microsoft is
making a non-expiring Blocker Toolkit available for individuals that
would like to block automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 7 to machines in
environments where Automatic Updates is enabled.

I am one of those individuals and am very happy to continue working with IE6
until the first service pack
for IE7 is released, (the problems people experiencing with IE7 Beta made me
wary as my technical know how is
limited).

Reading thru your post, I did not realise that MS would notify users first
when IE7 is ready to install and thought it would download and install
automatically.
