IE6 Won't Open!

After I click Internet Explorer for it to open, it will "load" (and a
'iexplore' process is created). However, Internet Explorer won't open. I
have to "open" IE about 3 or 4 times for it to normally open ... then I have
3 or 4 processes. Then again, sometimes it will open on the first time.

I tried going to Add/Remove Windows Components and uninstalled IE and
installed it again through that. I also found an article on Microsoft's
Knowledgebase. However, after doing whatever that said, it just asks me
whenever I restart ... "Internet Explorer has been removed from this sytem.
Would you like to clean up personalized settings?" Or something along those
lines. Any ideas on how to fix this without reinstalling Windows?

Hi,
Is the OS Windows XP? Attempts to uninstall IE6 from XP usually (if you're
lucky) simply remove access to IE.

Try this.
Go back to Add/remove programs> Add/remove Windows components> put a check
by IE. OK your way out. Restart.

You may also have to go into "Set program access & defaults" and make
choices regarding "Default" and "Enable access."

You may also have to go into Display properties> Desktop> Customize to check
IE under Desktop icons.

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." If that allows IE to work, another program, possibly
malware, is causing the problem.
You should re-enable browser extensions after resolving the problem.
