IE6 won't open new windows..

All of a sudden my IE6 will not open up new windows for me.
Not by hitting Ctrl-N but when a webpage pops up a link in a new browser or
a java script opens an additional window.

What happends is that the window opens but nothing is in it, in the case of
a webpage opening up it opens as blank and if I hit stop button and then
reload it usually loads up fine. But in the case of a java window opening I
do not have that option so I cannot see those pages, infopops or whatnot
that opens it's own window.

Anyone know what is going on or have experienced something similar?

And anyone have a suggested solution?

Added info.

Opening url's that open a new window from OTHER programs then from within
IE6 itself.

Outlook Express - Same effect as from IE6
mIRC - Opens up a browserwindow with webpage just fine

Also using the "Search" function yields an error message
"An error has occured in this dialog:
Error 35
Incompatible version of the RPC stub."

Then IE6 crashes with following:

"AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: rpcrt4.dll
ModVer: 4.71.3335.0 Offset: 00042a2c"

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

5. If you are using WinXP try this:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (msconfig for WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

That one worked!
