IE6 will not open, errors - errors - errors

WIN98 IE6 SP1

The Internet Explorer will not open, always an error message and will close.
I have reinstalled Windows and also run a Scandisk and Scanreg to fix
errors.
I have also done the repair process in the add/remove box via control panel.

Everything else on the computer is working fine, including this Outlook
Express.

Anything that opens the IE browser causes the error to report and/or close
IE6.

I have no idea what to do or how to totally remove IE and reinstall it but I
do have my WIN98SE disk. Suggestions please and no web links as I have no
browser :-(

I started the computer in SAFE mode and ran a scanreg /fix and scandisk. It
fixed the problem.
