It's been a problem for months, so I've given up...
Windows XP, all updates installed... IE ver 6, SP2...
Adobe 7 current Abode onboard.
For the past several months, no matter what I've changed, undone,
security settings changed (all the way down to 'none' and all things checked
for
on..) to security settings turned off on the CA firewall...nothing seems to
help.
pdf files are not displayed in the browser, just the placeholder..and no
error messages
or error indicators. And IE's been reinstalled twice..no good. Adobe's
been reinstalled
on its own and into IE's (through the component interface) and again, no
good.
In Mozilla Firefox though, just recently installed, adobe pdf's display
fine.
IE used to work fine with pdf's, I can't figure out what I might have
changed
to make things not work...or what combination of switches I haven't tried
yet..
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone seen this issue in current or past
IE's..that may give a clue as well. Maybe it's not in IE itself, but
something in the
XP setup or configuration that is interfering with the pdf's being
displayed.
any ideas very welcome...is this an IE issue or a general XP setup or config
issue?
if I can narrow it down, perhaps I can find out what is actually going
on...it's very
frustrating.
Thanks,
