IE6 & Secure Sites

Whenever I try to use the IE6 browser to access a secure
site (e.g., Earthlink webmail, broker, credit card, bank)
I get the standard "page not available" message. This
also happens when I try to access MSN, where I have a
hotmail account. I'm now using Opera (gasp) to access
secure sites, but I really want to have a fully
functional IE6. I've checked my security settings and
all seems OK there.

Any ideas, short of uninstalling and reinstalling IE6?

I've got the same problem. I am only guessing but it happened about the same
time as I discontinued my norton internet security subscription and i also
downloaded a christina aguilera screensaver which I am a bit suspicious of
because it didn't work so I am wondering if I was tricked and downloaded a
bug instead. I have reinstalled IE6 and reinstalled Windows XP over the top
of existing installation but it still doesn't work. I have attempted to
contact norton but no success so far, Microsoft must still be on holidays.
Just as a matter of interest, are you able to use your windows update which
is under the tools option in IE6 or is it playing up too.
