ie6 process hang

I have XP Pro all patches and updates with ie6 and after applying all the
recommended updates, including the deactivation of the activex controls, I am
finding that IE6 has lost its mind. I am constantly getting a non responding
message which is very annoying and have to kill the process and open a new
window. I have also found that this activex update is effecting other
programs as well such as yahoo IM too. Does anyone know what is going on with
this?

Hi Divefan,

Are you using the Yahoo Companion toolbar with tabbed browsing? This is
still in Beta and I have found it to be a bit problematic. Try disabling
'third-party browser helper objects' - Internet Options, Advanced tab.

Then if you can load IE without problems use the Add-In Manager to disable
unwanted toolbars or uninstall them.

Thanks Rob, but that didn't do it. I really think it has to do with the
activex controls and the patches and updates that everyone has to get. Ever
since Microsoft made the Activex controls manditory, this has been an issue.
