IE6 opening spontaneously

IE 6.0.29 svc pak2, XP Pro svc Pak2

In the last week my IE 6 has started opening new copies of itself and goes
logs itself into my email. Usually triggered by me entering something into
a field in an open web page, like google etc.

I've updated and run the anti-spy and norton AV, but neither one of those
has found anything.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Yahoo says to reinstall IE.

TIA

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

I have noticed that when this takes off, it usually opens 12-14 IE windows,
however the Task Manager only shows a single copy of IE loaded.

I ran HiJack but nothing was found.

Still looking and trying to narrow it down. Yahoo support says to reinstall
IE.

If anyone has this same action, please let me know.

TIA, GWB
