ie6 - missing pics in web pages

hi i am running the folowing

winxp pro sp2
ie 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp2_sp2_rtm.040823-2158

when I have ie open for too long, it will have problems loading pages and
pictures properly.

Some pages refuse to load on the first attempt and i have to either press F5
or click the Go button.

for the pages that load, many pictures are missing and i have to go to every
red X, right click and select Show picture, which is a pain

any idea what's wrong?

Do you have WebWasher or any other web/ads-filter?

I find that with WebWasher, if a page has many pictures some of them
are not loaded until I click reload (to bad there has been no new
version of the free WebWasher Classic for a long time to fix this).

The betas of the ad-filter i ZA Pro had some similar problem (red Xs)
 
Is your temporary internet file space filling up? Click tools at the top of
IE. On the general page click delete files. You can increase the temporary
internet file space by clicking settings ( beside delete files ) and click
the arrow up beside MB ( mine is set to 1200 MB ). On the amount of disk
space to use, mine is set on the second line.
