IE6 maximizes to less than full screen

Y

Yo Dude

IE6 just started maximizing to about 1" below the top of
the screen. The background is visible behind it. When I
reduce IE6 to a standard window, it can be moved into that
space and resized to fill the screen, but if I maximize it
again, it goes back to about 1" below the top of the
screen. When it does this, it also cuts off the bottom of
IE6 and you can't move the window to access it...

Anybody seen this before?

Try:
With only the affected window open (and the taskbar NOT set to autohide)
grab the top of the taskbar and pull it up to twice its normal height. Then
close the window, resize the taskbar, reopen the window.
Or
With only that window open, right click the taskbar and choose "tile
vertically" (horizontally should also work.)
Or (a registry edit)

Don has already given you a correct answer to your previous
*identical* post.

If you don't understand his answer you should tell him your difficulty with it.

If you tried it but it didn't result in a fix you should have
some new symptoms to report.

In any case you should have modified your post to report the
previous help you had been given.

The short answer to your question is "Yes, many times."
You could alternatively search Google Groups or
the Microsoft Communities web interface to newsgroups.

(Google Groups search for
maximized "auto-hide" group:microsoft.*.ie6.browser
)

However, I think that for some reason you may be using the old
version of the web interface which has a much poorer search tool.
Try this link instead:

<
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...1-4C3C-BCC9-8EB7A22FC6A0&dglist=&ptlist=&exp= >

As you can see searching on that portal is much easier than searching
using the old web interface but as usual searching with Google Groups
yields the best results.
