IE6 History and favorites

IE6 reloades unwanted websites on favorites and restores
deleted history after reboot as though deletion hasn't
taken place. Loaded and ran McAfee antivirus and anti-
spyware products with no results. I'm not sure how to
handle registry issues w/o buggering it up. Plz help. M
