IE6 & Firefox problem

With both browsers I can view most web sites but there are some sites that I
can not view with either. In IE6, I receive an error message "This page can
not be displayed" and Firefox message is "The operation timed out while
attempting to contact www.***.com. I know the pages are available as I've
accessed them on another computer. Two sites in particular I can't view.
www.upi.com and www.bmo.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your HOSTS file located at :\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. Use Notepad
to open the file and see if these sites are in the list. If so, remove the
entries. Note : this is a "read only" file and it has no extension. To
change it you need to remove the "Read only" attribute. I don't know why
these entries may be there but if found , you may have some sort of malware
infecting your system. Do a complete virus and malware scan.

Thanks for input but, unfortunately, does not solve the problem. I have
cleaned up Hosts and renamed the file Host.old. I have run McAfee virus scan
and checked for malware with Spybot and with AdAware. All OK. Any other
suggestions?
