IE6 Error Code?

This message pops up on my desktop about every 45-60 seconds when I have IE
open.

"Secure IE Autoupdate was unable to connect to the internet. Please check
your connection and try again."

Then just now I tried to close this message and it says Autoupdate was now
updating my computer. I can connect to the internet just fine with all
applications but this message keeps poping up when I'm logged in with IE6.

Windows version?

IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Automatically check for
IE updates (try uncheck this).

Windows version is XP sp2 and I have tried it unchecked.
