IE6 closes unexpectidely

Hi when using a search engine and clicking on a resulting link IE6 sometimes
closes down immediately and loses any history related to the search. I
recently downloaded the latest JAVA software and wondered if this could be
the cause? Any help please?

Hi Gary,

Try this workaround:

1. Click Start, run, type "inetcpl.cpl" (with out quotation marks) and click
OK.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, uncheck the "Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart)" check box.
4. Click OK.

PS: Do not restart your computer after performing the above steps.

Once you are done with the above steps, please open a brand new Internet
Explorer and check if the problem is resolved.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

Hi Timmy :)

In addition to the other suggestions, try the following and see if it helps

Clear your History and Temporary Internet Files for the User account

Additional info at

Internet Explorer closes unexpectedly:

First eliminate any spyware.

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stact. Before
you try to remove spyware using any of these programs , download a copy of

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

I cleared out the history and temp folder and it seems to be behaving itself
