IE6 auto-sign out & home page settings problems

Anybody please got any ideas about 2 problems I'm having with IE6? Thanks.
(1) When closing internet explorer 6, the system enters a restart procedure.
(2) The home page is set to uk.msn.com but when IE6 is loaded it still goes
back to the old home page (theaustralian.com.au) - it doesn't appear to be
'holding' my change to the home page setting.

Various protection programs can do this. SpyBotSD for one.
