IE6 and My Network Places

I am not sure if this is the correct NG to post this query, so apologies if I`ve
got it wrong.

In My Network Places, when I used to doubleclick `homepages`, I went straight to
a listing of the folders and html pages related to my website. Now, I get a
list of folders entitled `docroot` (in which my webpages reside), `docroot.old`,
`errpages`, and so on. When I tried to delete all but `docroot`, permission was
denied, although I have Administrative privileges as the only user of the
computer. Can I safely get rid of these folders, please, and if so, how? Also,
why have they suddenly appeared? The only change I have made recently that I
can think of was to download the Google Toolbar, which I have since uninstalled.

Many thanks

Kate

Try this: See the "Clearing Existing Shortcuts from My Network Places"
section near the bottom of this article:

Places

If no joy, post this issue to the newsgroup for your version of Windows -
for XP:

Or more specifically the networking and web group for XP:

Thanks for the reply, Jon.

I tried the first remedy, and My Network Places/homepages disappeared! I Added
a new Network Place, with my ftp:// address, and all these wretched folders came
back (but did include the docroot one that contains my webpages etc. thank
goodness). Meanwhile, I have now posted the same query to
microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web and also contacted my ISP - although I
don`t hold out much hope for any useful help from the latter...

Thanks again
Kate
