IE will not load home page or search; gives error

I can't seem to get IE to run. If I click my homepage
(google) it loads the following error in the address line:

http://www.errorplace.com/red.php?c={C0067CAC-E506-47D8-856A-057C10825E38}&aff=trinsic2&q=google

If I type the URL for Symantec or anyone else, it does the
same thing, but puts Symantec at the end or whoever else
I'm searching for. It has also been locking up temporarily
while searching. This is new. It is IE 6.0 running on
W2K, Norton Internet Security and Antivirus checked entire
system; all ok; I deleted Explorer history, temp files and
cookies.still gives me the error. Help!

I did a Google Search and errorplace supposedly has an
uninstall tool on their site. I checked a few forums and
they advised that too.

Just having an Anti-Virus program is not enough
protection.
It is recommended every computer, in addition to their AV
program, have both of these programs at the very least.

Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org
Ad-aware - www.lavasoftusa.com

Make sure they are always updated and run them regularly,
especially after you have downloaded a program or your
computer/browser begins acting different/strange.

Another very good program to have on your computer at all times is
SpywareBlaster. It helps keep scumware from getting loaded to your machine
to start with. It is also free, and very highly recommended.

(Note: It is not an Anti-Virus program >

I found the errorplace uninstall site but am unable to download it due to "your current settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" Has anybody tried this and is it safe? this is the site that hijacked me in the first place and does it mean my antivirus program or some other setting?

Yes, it would seem that you are not able to download from that site, which,
if it is the site that you got hijacked from, that is good. :)

But, if you would, please list here the exact link information of the site
you were hijacked form. That information would be a very big help in
finding out more about it, to perhaps add it to the Hijack and other malware
program files to prevent others from getting hijacked. It is not often that
people remember or are willing to go back to the source of the infection to
give this information. Or, you might go to the forum below and post a new
topic and add the information there. You can post as a Guest, that's fine.
The experts there will then be able to check it out from there. But, if you
prefer, just post it here. I'll see that it gets back to them at the forum
too.
Either way would be very much appreciated. :)
