IE text size

Hello,
I recently had a friend on my computer and I dont know what he did, but
my text size on my internet explorer is extremely large. He will not
tell me what he did, but when i turn on my computer the text size is
very large (by the way, view -> text size is the same as its always
been, same with encoding) after about a half an hour a command prompt
opens with the target C:\windows\system32\sethc.exe. I had 2
sethc.exes in there, one was sethc.exe, and the other sethc.exe.exe
when i showed file extensions under folder options. I deleted those
files and restarted my computer, assuming that Windows XP would just
ask to reinstall, but now, it didnt and my text size is staying the
same. Any Solutions?

Thank you for your time

Hi,
First check:
Control Panel> Accessibility Options> Display. Make sure that High Contrast
is not checked. Also click on Settings and uncheck Use Shortcut. That will
disable the Alt+Shift+Print Screen shortcut to High Contrast.

Then, Internet Options> General> Accessibility. For most users, nothing
should be checked.

Is this Windows XP?

Hope this helps,
Don

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...General tab, Accessibility - make
sure all boxes there are unchecked. If no joy, did your pal change the
screen resolution on your monitor?

sethc.exe is the "high contrast" utility for the display, it's part of
Windows OS. If it's popping up in a command box, I would suspect your
friend was playing around, possibly trying to gain full system access - see
the third paragraph here - http://www.securityfocus.com/archive/1/434943
Or here: http://seclists.org/lists/pen-test/2005/Jan/0153.html

If so, this "friend", who wouldn't tell you what he/she did, would not be my
pal any longer - or at least would not have access to my computer anymore.

Or, you could have a virus or malware....
