IE still running in processes

I'm having a weird problem with my internet explorer after I close it out.
Sometimes it is still running in the processes and down in the taskbar. You
keep clicking close and most of the time it still won't close, I have to go
into task manager and close it that way. What can be the problem?

Make sure your system is malware/virus free by scanning.
Look in the event viewer for error messages (X) and post them in your next
post.

It says that "File Monitor" is the most recent with regards to this software
and that this one is left around for older systems. I I am just downloading
now

I use the Profile Hive Cleanup Service. I can't see where that would have
anything to do with Iexplore still running.
