IE SLOOOOW after SP2 install

Chris

After installing SP2 my IE slows down to a crawl. When clicking on a
link there is a 5~10 second pause, the page loads up, but the images
(even Flash files) takes forever to download. Firefox and Netscape
work just fine so it's not a network issue. Once I rollback to SP1,
everything (IE) works fine. I've tried loading SP2 4 times now to
troubleshoot all to no avail. Here's what I've done so far to
troubleshoot (after loading SP2):

1. Disabled XP firewall - Didn't fix the problem.
2. Disabled McAfee On Demand Scan - Didn't fix problem.
3. Cleared IE cache and cookies - Didn't fix problem.
4. Ran scandisk and defrag - Didn't fix problem.
5. Checked for viruses and mal-ware and found nothing - Didn't fix
pproblem.
6. Un-installed network adapter and re-installed - Didn't fix problem.
7. Loaded latest NIC driver - Didn't fix problem.
8. Removed every protocol except TCPIP from NIC - Didn't fix problem.
9. Disabled DHCP and configured static IP - Didn't fix problem.
10. Loaded lastest motherboard BIOS update - Didn't fix problem.

11. Said screw it and rolled back to SP1 - PROBLEM FIXED! IE now loads
pages like it always has. No delay when clicking on a link and images
D/L immediately.

Conclusion: There's obviously an issue here with IE in SP2 that some
people are experiencing. I've seen other posts on the 'Net and in this
forum regarding this same topic. If anyone at MS is listening, I sure
would like for you to look into this and hopefully find a resolution.
By my limited troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the XP kernel, I
think I've eliminated any disk, NIC driver, or firewall issues. It
would appear to me to be an IE caching issue and/or how IE (in some
cases) is using the TCIP stack.
