IE shuts down whne page is fully loaded

I launch IE 6 and the page starts loading (I'm am using 56k dial-up). When the page is fully loaded IE just shuts down, no error message nothing. The only time this is not the case is when I am not connected to the internet. I launch IE and my dial-up connection starts dialing, when this is complete and the webpage is full loaded IE does not close down. I am running it on XP Home Edition. I have tried to find an error log for the problem in the event log but cannot see anything.

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
You may also have to set the Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
