IE Runtime Error

R

Ralph

I now receive a runtime error every time I launch IE6.
It states:

A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug?
line 524 Error:Expected "}"

I have installed all of the downloads for I6 but no
change.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ralph,

Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced tab

Enable (check) the line: "Disable script debugging"
Disable (uncheck) the line: "Display a notification about every script
error"

That should resolve it.

Thanks Rick -

Your suggestion eliminated the notification BUT the error
still occurs. How do I deal with eliminating the
error? Is there a way or do I have to reinstall IE? If
I reinstall IE - How do I retain the "Favorites"?

It results from a faulty script on the site you are connecting to. The
message is no use to you. Go to Control Panel - Internet Options -
Advanced and check 'Disable script debugging' leaving the box below,
'Warn on errors' *not* checked. You may then find that the site does
not work - all you can do is tell them (usually mail to
webmaster@wherever )
