IE no longer remembers what I typed

I use a genealogy website. Before I got my new computer, I could type in a
last name in a search field say starting with the letter 'w'. After that,
anytime I typed in the letter 'w' in that fied, I would get a drop down box
showing every word I had ever previously entered that started with 'w'. This
no longer occurs and I can't figure out why. I am running Spysweeper,
ad-aware, spybot, zone alarm, and Norton anti-virus. All of which I had
previously. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Horny,

Its a new computer( or windows version), not all of your settings may have
been copied when you transfered files from you old to the new computer.
Typed searches are kept in the Windows Registry which is not copied when you
install or upgrade to a new version of windows.

Hi you two:
Don: yes, autocomplete is turned on. And so is 'use inline auto complete' in
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced. Still no luck.

Rob: This is difficult to explain unless you're familiar with how these
genealogy sites work. You type in a person's last name in their search field
- a name that begins with the letter 'w' for example. Then, each subsequent
time you use that search field and type in the letter 'w', a drop down menu
will appear that shows every last name you've previously typed in that began
with the letter 'w'. I refuse to call Microsoft so I'm hoping someone here
can give me some idea how to fix this.

I've used this site many many times since getting the new computer and it
still won't 'remember' anything. So I'm stumped. The tech guys where I bought
it said it might be a case of some of my security software not playing nicely
with XP or IE. But it's the same security software I used before.
