IE error - Window XP

My sister's computer has window XP installed. She was not having a problem
getting on the internet. One day she booted the computer up and got the
google 400 error The client has issued a malformed or illegal request. I
have scanned her computer for viruses and spyware. I can bring the computer
to my work on a T1 line and it will work. She goes home and it does not work
on her DSL line. She called her ISP and they said it was something on her
computer causing the error. She even connected another laptop to her DSL
line and it worked. She is now getting a error saying iexplorer not
responding. Any ideas what could have happen or how to fix.

Hi
If the computer is connected directly to the DSL Modem it can be some sort
of authentication problem (id and PW) related to PPPOE protocol needed for
most consumer DSL connections.
In general I would suggest to everyone using DSL to use a Cable/DSL Router
even if it a single computer. It provides more security and takes care of
the authentication ( <http://www.ezlan.net/PPPOE.html> ).
As for the Gmail Error, if the Home page in the browser is Gmail.com try to
change it to some neutral URL that does not need controlled login.
