I'm having the same issue that many people here are having - I can't get any
websites to show up in IE6 -- I get the "cannot find server DNS error"
message. I've run virus scans and Spybot S&D and that didn't help. I've
adjusted all of my internet options. NOthing. I can't access ANY websites
at all.
I tried to redownload IE (using Netscape because I can't access anything in
IE) but for some reason whenever I click on the download link, my system is
adding a .jpg to the end of the file extension. So, automatically my system
tries to open the file in Windows Picture Viewer. I tried saving it to disk
instead -- it still added that extension on. The weird thing is that I can't
SEE the extension until I try to open the file.
So I guess I have 2 issues - not being able to open IE (which I need because
there are several sites that I go to that aren't compatible in Netscape.
Netscape is my primary browser but for these few sites, I have no choice but
to use IE) and how to fix that .jpg extension on downloads.
Anyone care to help? Please?
