PC had some infections that virus checker did not say but malwarebytes found
over 100 and cleaned... now says all clean.

Reinstalled IE7 still will not start, taskmanager shows iexplore listed then
disappears one second later. Installed IE8 incase some iexplore files
corrupted and same issue. Click IE icon, egg timer for a couple of seconds
and nothing... no window opens.

Restored pc to a month ago no change, started IE with no addons, still
nothing.

Properties of IE, reset all still no go.

Firefox opens fine, msn explorer works fine.

tried all of below link still nothing... step 1 cannot do as no window opens

Internet Explorer 7 exits immediately when you start it in Windows XP or in
Windows Server 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928427

Or you may have more work to do...

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

NB: Run the FULL scan, not the QUICK scan!

2. WinXP ONLY!! => Run the Windows Live Safety Center's 'Protection' scan
(only!) in Safe Mode with Networking, if need be:
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum, not here.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
