IE crashes hard

Hi,

Just did a clean install of Win98 SE on my 233PII with
128MB and Installed IE 6.0 SP1.

My computer is crashing at least once a day when I use IE
and when it does I often need to reboot. After a message
is sent I get a message saying Explorer caused a GPF in
module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:0000ac95.

Once I got a message with the title DW15 and this was a
KRNL386.EXE error as well. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
coop

Yes, uninstall IE6 and go back to v5.5, as IE6 can cause numerous problems
in Win98, and M$ refuses to fix them. See this link:
http://aumha.org/elist/trenches.htm. Scroll down to "Internet Explorer 6 &
Windows 98."

I tried IE6 three times, the last being SP1, and had serious problems with
the Windows shell, primarily running Windows Explorer and deleting large
numbers of files. IE6 would crash at least every other day, though I never
got a BSOD; IE6 would just lock up and I would ctrl-alt-del out.
