IE connect Problem

Have a problem with the boss's grandson's computer. He has SBC as an IP and
AOL as a software browser. He has Winnt 2000 OS. In doing the cleanup he
developed a problem getting connected to AOL. I tried to get IE to function
in the interim. I can get the dialup to connect with my IP but I can't get
the IE to operate once it shows I'm on line. I told them to install AOL
version 9 and will call them later today to see if that helps them to
connect using the AOL browser. Any thoughts how to get IE to connect when on
line?

Also he has a ton of cookies in his "Temporary Internet Files". What's the
best way to clean them out? The temporary files have been emptied, but the
cookies remain.

Cookies aren't actually stored in the TIF folder, although Windows
Explorer displays them as if they were. The best way to delete them is to
close IE and go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab and
click "Delete Cookies". I f you want to be selective about it, click the
"Settings" button instead of "Delete Cookies", then click "View Files".
You'll get a list from which you can delete the cookies individually.
It's best to delete eveything from the TIF before doing that, so files
other than cookies don't confuse the issue.
