IE - Changing location of Favorites folder.

I moved my Internet Explorer Favorites folder from
C:\Users\Michael\Favorites to F:\Data\Favorites
F: is another partition on the same phycical disk as C: and I normally can
write to it!

I now find that although I can select a web page by using my favorites, I
can not store a new web page as a Favorite.
When ever I try to do this I get " Unable to create 'name of web page'
Unspecified error."

How can I resolve this problem? (Apart from moving Favorites back to its
old location)

Try this:
Open an admin command prompt
(right-click Command Prompt and click Run As Administrator)
Browse to the folder that contains your favorites folder
Type: icacls favorites /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low

That works! Many thanks for your help. I am amazed how people know this
stuff. It is not exactly obvious!

Vista has a very complex files structure which may well be useful if you
want to have roving desktops in a commercial situation but (IMHO) is
somewhat overkill for a single user home PC. It just makes everyting
unnecessarily complex!
