I posted yesterday but no one has replied! Please help
me think about this one. On XP Pro SP1 running the
latest version of IE6, trying to connect to any web
address, the status bar shows the IP address (whereas my
other machines show the http://url). The PC cannot seem
to resolve the IP address to the domain name. I can do an
nslookup on the IP address or the domain name, and that
works fine. However, when I ping, I cannot get a
response via IP address, only via domain name.
The strange part is...you type in a domain name (ie;
http://yahoo.com) and the IP address displays in the
status bar. Eventually you will get a "page not found"
error. But then you can click the Refresh button. Now
the status bar displays the domain name, and the page
will load. H - E - L - P!!!
