IE can't open properly

IE has difficulty opening. It starts to open and within
seconds it shuts down again, leaving a Real Audio icon on
the desktop that says something .log file. It's alwsys
Real Audio, nothing else. Apparently RA trips it up and
it shuts down immediately.

How do I disable RA from tripping IE to shut before it
opens? Is there something wrong???

Expert opinion requested, thanks.

I don't have RA, but do you see it in the systray
(lower right, on your taskbar)? If so, try right-clicking
it there and disabling it. Or go to Task Manager,
Processes, and end-task the real whatever from there.
Also check your Startup program group and see if
it's auto-launching from there on Windows start up.

Thanks.
No, it's not in the Taskbar and it's not autostart with
IE. It appears that RA has an auto-reminder that comes up
uninvited every time I try to open IE and then shuts it
down before IE can fully open the homepage.

Did you check Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete)?
It's got to be there in the processes.

Also, run MSConfig, and check whether RA is
there in the startup items. If so uncheck it and
restart Windows.
