After intstalling WinXP Service Pack 2 and .NET 1.0 & 1.1 service packs, my
IE cant open any new window, how do I correct this problem ? Even I cant
access my hotmail account through MSN Messenger

NB : "Open in new window" menu doesnt work, and javascript cant also open
any new window. I've disabled the Popup Blocker, but still its giving me a
headache.

Have you got Java installed? You have to get it from Sun Java as MS doesn't
provide it anymore.

Yes, Java is installed. You really dont need Java for this problem. I guess
its something to do with IE. It's not opening any new windows.

One more thing, IE has built-in Javascript, what you're talking about is JVM
(Java Virtual Machine) of Sun

You could try this fix,

Paste the following line into the Run box on the Start Menu then click Ok.

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. When I try to
click on a link that opens a new window, it won't work. And it's not every
kind of new window. I thought Java was the problem at first because it
failed for the command

javascript:DisplayEventWindow

on the Mac icalendar website (where my manager sends my schedule to me),
plus it failed for the command

javascript:OpenWindow

on the page MS suggests you check for Java problems,
http://zone.msn.com/en/bejeweled

But I tried uninstalling Java and installing an old version (1.2), and it
does the same thing. I tried to find some way to uninstall or reinstall
Internet Explorer, but I wasn't very successful since MS just keeps telling
me to run Windows Update to download IE6, and Update sees that I already have
it installed, so it won't offer for me to reinstall or download or anything.
Did you find out anything more? I'm sure we could call MS and pay them $30
for them to tell us to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows. :p
