I have a technical problem with IE 6. When I try access some web pages that
contian flash, it always remind me that my system hasn't intalled macromedia
flash player. But in fact, I check my system, that is already flash player7
installed. I have removed shockwave flash object from my system and
downladed from macromedia website for installing again. It always prompt me
to install again. I wonder! Here is the link that I cann't open properly.

Hi,
First, go to Internet Options> Security> Internet zone and choose Default
Level.

Then, do you have a security, ad-blocking, pop-up blocking program running
that would be blocking Flash, scripting or other active content? You'll have
to find the option to allow Flash, animation and similar active content.

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks.
first I set internet zone security to default level according to your
suggestion.
and then there is ms antispyware installed on my system and no other
security software installed. I wonder how to config in this antispyware to
allow flash can play on my system.
I must report to you that in other website have flash object it can display
flash on my system. only fewer websit cannot.

thanks again.

Hi,
You might try placing the site in Trusted Sites (Internet Options>
Security.) Uncheck "Require server verification" and enter the site as
*.nytimes.com

Hi,
Try:
1. Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete files
(and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often recommended
that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)
2. Open C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files. Remove any objects related to
shockwave, flash, swf, Macromedia.
3. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get to Task Manager then look at the Processes
tab. Is there a privacy/security program running that you were unaware of?
Hint: lookup process names at google.com to identify the program. Zone Alarm
(and many other programs) can block active content such as Flash.
4. IE> Tools> Manage add-ons... anything there that might be blocking Flash?

Can you do a View Source on the problem page to see how that
Flash file is being requested? (e.g. Alt-V,c and then do F3 find for .swf)
Perhaps the problem is the file rather than your version of Flash?

BTW check to see if the .swf file gets downloaded into your TIF
or whether it is non-cacheable. E.g. open the TIF viewer Alt-T,O,Alt-S,V
then (if not already set) choose Details and sort by Last Accessed,
Alt-V,D Alt-V,I,Last Accessed. If you can see it in the TIF you could
save it and then see what would happen if you tried to open it locally.

Good luck
