IE cannot display search page

This is the only problem that I've been having using
Internet Explorer: everytime I try to go to any search
engine site, I am unable to connect to that site. For
example, Google, Yahoo! Search, and MSN Search are all
unable to be displayed and the message that pops up in a
separate window says, "Internet Explorer cannot display
search page." Any suggestions towards helping me out
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
