IE button size won't change

J

I use a computer at a college and i am having a major problem with IE.
The button sizes are too big and cannot be altered in any way that i
have tried in the tool bars. This is buttons in CSS sheets such as the
search button on google but also some boders and nearly all background
colours. This is fine on some websites but on wikipedia, for example,
its alsmost unbearable.

To clarify it is a button text size problem not a font size problem, i
can change font size, text etc with no problems. I have scowered
microsoft help etc with no luck.

It annoys me because my college forces me to use IE (id much rather use
firefox) and if ignore them install it and bypass their proxy settings
etc i could be kicked off my course, which dosnt seem fair seen as the
it support can't fix the problems.

Hit F11 and you get a "kiosk mode" like view with only a thin band of small
buttons at the top. Hit F11 again to return to normal view.

Thanks for the help but i have fixed the problem, turns out it was a
windows contrast disability setting that was messing up multiple
programs on windows xp, IE being the most visible and obvious. I
eventually fixed the problem by finding that publisher also had a
background colour issue.
