IE and Windows update

Have several "related" issues with IE 6.0 on XP Pro.
1. Windows update page doesn't display (it's blank).
2. Help/About shows NO version number or update data.
3. Start/ Help never displays.
4. Start / Search display windows are blank.

SP2 is NOT installed.

Please some suggestions..........else I will reload
XP "fresh".

Click Start, Run and type this command:

REGSVR32 JSCRIPT

This should fix all or most of the said problems.
