IE 6

I was recently infected by a parasite program that kept stealing my IE session and replacing it with adverts. I managed to rid myself of it by purchasing a removal utility but now I can only run one IE session at a time, If I try to run another session it just brings up the home page in my existing session. I have been unable to find any advice in the knowledge bank so would appreciate any help please.

Is there a way I can remove all trace of IE from my system and registry and then re-install it? Would that fix it
