IE 6 Hangs

After looking at a lot of Hang posts in this newsgroup -
I'm wondering if there is not a problem with IE 6.0. I
have the same problem - IE hangs for about 20 Seconds. I
have run Adware and Spybot - still have the same problem.
I'm running under XP and the IE version is 6.0 SP1 Update
Q831167. I use a cable modem and ISP to connect to the
net. The really interesting thing is I have Netscape 7.1
and it's flying with NO delays. I talked to the ISP
provider and they said they were not having and complaints
and test my line ALL was OK. I have tried shutting down
Norton Firewall and Norton Anti-Virus to no avail again
Netscape is running fine with them running.

That's exactly my problem. It started about 2 weeks
ago. I'm running WinXP, IE version 6.0sp1, and a cable
modem. IE hangs for about 15-20 after opening web
pages. The status bar at the bottom of the screen stays
at 100% throughout the delay. I also have AOL that
accesses the cable modem and runs without any delays.
I've shut down Norton Internet Security and Norton Anti-
Virus; no improvement. Anybody have the solution?

I was having the same problem. IE would hang for a period
of time. I followed Frank Sauders recomendations. Tried
CWShredder and it did find an issue but did not fix the
problem. Tried HijackThis and still no help. Then tried
Spybot S&D and it found suspects but did not fix the
problem. I finally tried AdAware and it solved my problem
after updating to the most current signature file.

These programs are providing a valuable service and accept
donations, I will.

.. . . and thanks Frank
