IE 6 Browser TOO SLOW

I've been using Internet Explorer for many years now
without any problems. I'm running Windows 98 with 256 Mb
memory. All of a sudden, IE 6 is really slow. It takes
forever to "Open links in a new window" and to scroll down
the page. All other IE functions are slow as well. I've
already uninstalled & re-installed IE 6, then updated my
system through Windows Update, but still IE 6 is still too
slow.

1) Have you cleaned out your TEMP folder? Reboot your computer, go to
Start, Run, and type %temp% and click OK. Delete everything in there.
Reboot.

2) Are you using a cable modem? I am, and sometimes when it gets
really slow, I'll turn off the computer, turn off the surge protector, and
unplug the cable modem's A/C cord that plugs into the surge protector. Wait
about 2 minutes, then plug everything back in, and let the modem refresh
itself. After all the cable modem lights are blinking properly, turn on the
computer.
