IE 6.0 sp1 closes down when doing search

My IE 6.0 sp1 closes down when I try to do search in
Google or even MSN. After the search is done and I am
trying to browse through the results, IE abruptly closes
down, everytime. Is there something going on that I need
to know.

I am running Win2000 Pro and have installed all the
critical updates. Thanks for any ideas on resolving this
problem.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
