IE 6.0 Shuts Down Constantly

I have IE 6.0 installed on WinXP Pro SP1. IE opens ok
but when I change pages it will just shut down, blink
away. This happens most of the time but not always and
there is no pattern as to which sites I'm changing to
when the shut down happens.

We are experiencing the same problem. Browser opens with
home page but IE6 closes without warning (no beep is
played). We are all running Windows 2000 SP4 and the
latest IE.
Regretfully Henri's suggestion (copied below and posted
after Andy's) didn't work for us (we are all using the
default configuration which looks exactly as Henri's
description).
Am speaking for Peter in Salzburg (Austria), Rainer in
Starnberg (Germany), Ciro in Bogota (Colombia) and
Mauricio, Irene and myself in Caracas (Venezuela). Hope
someone our there can help, this is driving us crazy!

Try this: tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM -
only tick the JIT compiler box and leave the Java boxes un
checked (default) Henri Leboeuf
