Idel time out:My Network dies if idel

I am using my XP system as a gateway to the internet. The XP system has a
linksys wireless card and a network card. The connection to the internet is
via the wireless card that communications with a linksys broadband
rounter/hub.

If the systems on the LAN are idle for a period of 4 to 6 hours, no dns
lookups can take place. If I keep on system that does non-stop pings to a
system on the internet, there is no problem. So, is there a activity time for
XP when it is a gateway ? If so, how do I extend the time or get a patch to
fix this situation. Here is the configuration.

Internet<---->cable Linksys wireless ap/router<---->linksys wireless card (
XP system) Lan card<------>LANnetwork computers.

Go to your network device's properties in Device Manager. Click on the
Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow Windows to turn off this device
when not in use".

I just tried that. It appears that the DNS lookups cannot be performed. There
is not problem if I know the ip address. It looks like DNS just dies.

It looks like as a workaround, I need to set a static dns address to the
ISP's dns server. The card does not go down, just DNS lookup.

How can I figure the XP systems DNS settings ?
