Hello,
I am trying to share my cable Internet connection with
one computer through a lynksys wireless network.
The normal networking activities are fine; file, print
sharing etc.
When I check the "allow others to use this connection"
check box, I get:
"an error occurred while Internet Connection sharing was
being enabled.
The Dependency service or group failed to start"
In addition my home networking wizard fails to complete
it's operation if I try to use it, and tells me to set up
the config manually.
I had everything working ok, but I upgraded from winxp
home to winxp pro last night, and now I cannnot get the
sharing to work. The only thing I did notice was both
NICS have IRQ 9. But if that was an issue, wouldn't it
affect the regular networking activities?
Is there a way to blow out all of the settings and start
over? I tried deleting the connections and starting over
to no avail. The wizard won't complete, and same error
when ICS attempts to start. Again, My network functions
except for ICS.
Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks!
John
